Mayureshwar Ganapati Story:

It is said that Lord Brahma had built the idol of Ganesha with iron, clay, and diamonds. But asura (demon) "Sindhu" destroyed this idol twice. Later Lord Brahma again established the idol here. It is said that in order to protect the idol, it was covered with a copper sheet and later replaced with some other idol for puja. This idol can we see in the temple today.

About Ganesh Statue:

The trunk of this Lord Ganesh statue is north facing. Modak is within the left hand and gems within the navel of the statue. Near the left and right-hand of Ganesha, the statue of Riddhi and Siddhi is established. The well-known devotee of Ganesha, "Shree Morya Gosavi" took ownership of worshiping this idol. It is said that "Shri Ramdas Swami" sung Ganesha aarti "Sukhakarta Dukhaharta" in this temple for the first time. Nandi resides in front of this Ashtavinayak temple which is really uncommon as we find Nandi in front of all Lord Shiva's temple. This Ashtavinayak temple is very clean, and covered with minarets from all four sides.

Ganesh Jayanti and Ganesh Chaturthi Festival:

A large number of devotees visited every year especially on "Ganesh Jayanti" and "Ganesh Chaturthi". The trustee of the temple also organizes fairs and celebrations on the occasion of Vijayadashami.
