These four doors mean that any person of any religion can come to this temple. At that time, the society was divided into four castes and people of many castes were not allowed to go to other temples. But the four doors of this gurudwara invite people of these four castes. History of Golden Temple (Harimandir Sahib)

According to history, the fifth Guru, Shri Arjun Dev Ji had laid the foundation of the gurudwara in December 1577 from Sai Mir Mian Mohammad who was a Sufi saint of Lahore. The work of the Golden Temple was started in 1581 and finished in 1604. The structure of this 400-year-old gurudwara was personally designed by Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji.

Afghan invaders completely destroyed it in the 19th century. Then Maharaj Ranjit Singh rebuilt it and decorated it with a layer of gold. It is said that 750 kg of gold was used to cover the temple with a layer of gold. After covering the temple with a gold layer, the fame of this temple increases. The Golden Temple has been destroyed many times but due to devotion and faith, the Sikhs rebuilt it. The story of every construction and destruction of the temple is depicted in the temple.

Langar is open for devotees here for 24 hours. Arrangements for eating and drinking are made from offerings and other cells in the gurudwara. It is estimated that 40 thousand people receive the offerings of langar here. There is not only food here but there is also a stay arrangement for the people coming to the gurudwara at Shri Guru Ramdas Ji Niwas.

I love to travel, explore places, visit historical places, beaches and everything which I can cover on my bike. I think people must visit at least 10-15 places in a year where they never traveled before. To help people to understand places they may love based on their interest, I decided to blog on total safari.
