The visit to "Daulatabad Fort" (Devgiri), which is placed only 13 km from Aurangabad in Maharashtra, will be truly memorable. Leaving Aurangabad and heading towards Daulatabad, a tall tower catches your eye from a distance. Situated on a hill in the shape of a pyramid, which is very attractive on the outside and astonishing on the inside, the fort dates back to medieval times.
This invincible Devgiri fort was ruled by many kings and its feature is that no one has ever been able to conquer this fort on the strength of soldiers or war materials. Every time fort was won by the betrayal by many rulers. Even today, the fort stands tall and tells many stories of powerful kings who ruled over this fort.
In 1294, Alauddin Khilji launched a similar betrayal attacked and captured the Devgiri fort from King Ramdevra

This historic fort is also famous with the name "Devgiri" fort. This Devgiri fort was built by Yadava Dynasty in the 12th century (the year 1187) on God Hills. The structure of the fort is very special. Even today, when you see this fort, it is clear that it would never have been possible to conquer the enemy with its strong and impenetrable walls and with unbridled gates that even elephants could not breakthrough.
Suppose the enemy breaks through the first walls and doors and enters, then they need to face a forty-foot ditch filled with water. This water was containing crocodiles to welcome enemies. The only bridge to cross the trench was usually pick up when the enemy enters Aurangabad fort.
Moreover, if there was no time to lift the bridge, the soldiers coming from the bridge would be greeted by the poisonous arrows of the soldiers hiding on the bastions of the fort. As soon as the enemy moves forward, they need to go through the narrow passage. This

Once Lord Shankar and Mata Parvati were playing some games. In this, Bhagavan Shankara gets defeated and angrily left for the forest of Verul. To convince god Mahadev, Parvati dressed as Bhillini and started living in the hills of Mhaisamal. A few days later, Lord Shankar's wrath subsided and attached to this Bhillini and forbade the gods to enter the Ellora area. The nearby hill on which the gods started living is the hill of Devagiri (Gods area). The fort built on this hill is called Devagiri fort.
This Shivling shaped fort is a masterpiece of architecture.
As you enter through the main gate, you will see a tower called 'Chand Minar' on the right side. Built by Muslim rulers in the 21st century, the tower is 210 feet high and 70 feet in circumference. It has a total of four floors.
There is a cannon called "Mendha Tauf" in this area. This cannon is made of five metals. This is also called a 'sheep cannon'. Nearby is a 180-column Hemadpanthi temple. In 1950, people voluntarily erected an idol of Mother India here. In front of this temple is a huge reservoir called "Hatti Houd" (well) which is 150 feet long, 100 feet wide, and 23 feet deep.
I love to travel, explore places, visit historical places, beaches and everything which I can cover on my bike. I think people must visit at least 10-15 places in a year where they never traveled before. To help people to understand places they may love based on their interest, I decided to blog on total safari.
